chapter: colombia.
medellin. cartagena. bogota, oh my. the last 5 weeks have been insane. it’s my last day in colombia today so i had to hurry up and write something, so here i am.
this entire month has been nonstop. some of the highlights include living with eb and heidi. riding around the country on a van. dancing the night away in cartagena. running through the streets of medellin & bogota with kadeem. ziplining for the first time ever! and of course, chasing waterfalls.
the country is quite lovely.
medellin is just extra live for no reason at all, there was a street that was active from morning to night…like you think it’s busy in the morning and then all of a sudden so many more people come out at night, out of nowhere. it was like living in a jungle with lots of bars and restaurants. oh, there was this one bar that heidi and i, tried going to like 10 times and the bouncer wouldn’t let us in! they didn’t like american girls, so that was a negative point for medellin. but besides that i loved it.
cartagena was beautiful! soon as we landed, you could just feel the breeze of the ocean. eb found an amazing airbnb that faced the ocean. we were there for only 90-ish hours but we experienced a lot of emotions. it was a nice little getaway for us roomies. oh, and i actually got my phone stolen there, so apologies to anyone that has tried texting me or calling me for the last 4 weeks…i typically do take a long to reply back, but this time i had a solid reason :).
bogota, i love it here! it’s so calm, and the city is sooooooooooo big. a lot of ppl told us not to come here because it’s dangerous. but (knock on wood), nothing has happened since we have been here. we’ve had some good steak, some good chicken, and some good pizza. in my book, we call that a win, win, and a fucking win!
oh and if anyone is keeping tabs from my previous post….the universe does listen. i met a guy, out of all the damn places in the world, i met a guy, here, in colombia. who has been living in my head rent-free for a while now and i doubt i’ll ever see him again, but regardless that was one of the best weeks of my life, so again…. thank you, colombia!
now, since it’s our last day here, i’m on a mission to go find kadeem a guy! wish me luck!
adios, colombia. and guatemala, i’ll see you tomorrow! xx, nesi.
