A team.
Man, what a weekend. So good that I had to write about it so I can remember this years later.
Let me tell you about one of my faves, Amber Nicole Tinson, now Walker! She is one of the prettiest humans, well now that I think about it, all my 3 besties are gorgeous - like attracts like, so obviously…lolol jk! Back to Amber, aka A.
I first met her my first week at Valdosta State University - she was helping people move and I had seen her downstairs at our dorm building’s front desk, so I figured she must be nice. So I got my friends (that I knew for only 5 days) to help her friends move. And then from there we would always speak and eventually had a Philosophy class together, and somehow a bond that I never knew existed, started existing.
Fast forward from 2009 to now, the friendship has only gotten stronger and by golly I’m so proud how far we have come.
This weekend we made an escape to Hilton Head, to celebrate A’s birthday. She turned the big 35! We originally wanted to go to outside of US to some island, but given she is actually a very, humble, but important person - a mother, a wife, a social worker for a school + starting her own business - there were restrictions on if we would be able to travel and make it back within X number of days, so we had to be wise and pick a place that we could be around the sun, but also make it back in a couple of days. So, Hilton Head - here we come!!
The ride there was endless chatter, for 4 hours. You would think we would run out of things to talk about, but not us! One thing about A and I, we both hate talking on the phone and are horrible at texting back, but it’s nice to know we know that about each other and expect that are friendship will always last, even if we don’t talk to each other more than once a quarter.
So back to HH, we had so much fun! It was just us two, talking about our past, present, future and everything in between and I’m so glad we did this!! The mornings started early, since we are both morning people, and the nights ended early, because we are also old grandmas, so we want to be in bed watching netflix by 9pm - but nonetheless, I loved every moment of this trip. And I’m just so happy, that I had to share!!
